Dai-ichi Electronics Manufacturing Corporation

Dai-ichi Electronics Manufacturing Corporation (DEMC) supplies speakers and speaker systems in the Philippines under the Dai-ichi label and other hosts of registered trademarks in the country. It began under the name of Micro Global Manufacturing Corporation in a partnership in 1972.

During the early years, speaker production was merely on assembly of CKD (Complete knock-down) parts from Japan. By 1976, Dai-Ichi began manufacturing a whole line of its speakers designed by its own team of company engineers. Henceforth, the company’s full potential was realized. It was like opening a dam of untapped resources resulting in a gush of creative minds. These raw creative engineers shone at whatever endeavors placed on them, which in turn allowed the company to produce its own new innovative speaker designs based on customers’ specifications. It didn't take long for Dai-ichi to be established as a household name for speakers in the Philippines. Thus, earning the trust of clienteles with leading brands such as Sharp, Sony, Panasonic, and Samsung among many others.

Since then Dai-ichi stood by its commitment to continuously produce world-class speakers and speaker systems, answering the needs of a widespread export market. It was upon such solid standing that on March 13, 1989, SAISHO ONKYO INC., was formed in Cavite Export Zone to take over the production of loudspeakers for its export market. Its customers, to name a few, included Armstrong World Industries, Inc., KH Manufacturing, Klipsch, Mitek Corp., Stamina Int'l., BG Corporation, KEF, Celestion, Macrom, Phoenix Gold, Radio Shack, Kenwood, TDJ, Coustic, MTX, Cerwin Vega, Magnadyne, Peavey, Monster Cable and others. SAISHO ONKYO has a Sales team headed by the management that visits clients all over the world at least once a year optimizing products and related services. The Company is characterized by high growth and profitability and has been consistently included among the Top 1,000 Corporations in the Philippines. The company was a recipient of several awards and recognition, as the Export Company for the years 1987, 1988 and 1989. Dai-ichi had also received the Golden Shell award in 1991 and Marketing Company of the Year in 1995 by the Philippine Marketing Association.

On January 2009, Prophile Sound Industries, Inc. (PSI, Inc.) was established to handle the export business of DEMC in the Philippines. A new factory was also built in Shanghai, China to handle the additional export requirements of more than 30 countries worldwide.

Both Dai-ichi and PSI Inc. are ISO 9001:2008 certified companies by TUV-Rheinland (TUV) equipped with complete state of the art production lines that can produce all types of speaker requirements from our engineering designs, such as metal tooling, plastic injection, automated powder coating and Automated Electroplating lines. With the advent of new designs utilizing world-class technology, Dai-ichi had to setup the CNC (Computer Numerical Coding) Center, CNC Milling, wire cut and lathe machine for precision tooling; jig fabrications, wooden cabinet, Automated Multiple V-cut machinery and other related machineries. With all of these, the company is capable of producing world-class speakers and speaker systems.

Today, both companies continue to advance through research and development in the area of acoustics while maintaining a team of skilled personnel, engineers and equipment capable of designing and producing world-class audio speaker products for both local and export markets.
